You drink from a cup!

So Mr. Bryce has been having some issues with running to the bathroom every 3-5 minutes and having accidents. This has led to a Dr. visit and some tests. We were in the Dr's office where they requested Bryce to pee in a cup for them. He couldn't do it in the bathroom so we let him try to give the sample in the room. The first sample he had the elephant out and the walnuts in which didn't work! The next sample he looked up too fast and peed all over me and then finally got it right. Sure I could have helped him but I don't do Bryce below the waist. As he gets older he will SO be on his own so why not teach him that now! lol Fast forward to later in the afternoon at home. Bryce exclaims he has to go poddy so I yell ruuuuunnnnn! I turn around and continue what I'm doing and next thing I know I see Bryce coming out of the kitchen pulling up his pants from around his ankles! I said "oh no honey, did you have an accident?" His reply "Nope! I went pee in the cup and put it in the sink" OH NO he didn't!! I looked in the kitchen sink and sure enough there was his sample in his curious george cup sitting in the sink. I grabbed the bleach and washed down my whole kitchen!! He's crazy!!!

Lola's new look...

Lil mama wanted her hair short like mine. I told the hairdresser to take it up as far as she could without comprimising the inevitable poodle look. I think it turned out fantastic. She loves it and so does everyone else.

What a surprise...

Lola has a friend named Taylor who isn't much into the girly stuff. She loves to ride skateboards and play football. Now that's my kind of girl! Taylor received a present for Christmas that wasn't so much her style and she thought it was right up lola's ally. boy was she right! Here is Lola's
reaction when she first sees it.
.
This is what made her SO excited and why Taylor was happy to pass it on. Thank you Taylor! We love you!

I'm gonna wash that boy right outta my.....

We are all sitting down to eat dinner and Bryce finds he has dribbled the tiniest of tiny spots on his shirt. I told him to go get a little towel to dry it because he freaks out when he's dirty. NOT my kid! A few minutes have gone by and I find bryce doing this as I come into my kitchen. "what are you doing!?" his reply "my muscle shirt is dirty" It had a TINY spot on it! I said "you don't have to wash it right now and besides I do the laundry around here!" As you can see he has already changed his whole outfit!

A few minutes go by and I come back in the kitchen and this is what I see. He has lifted the lid and started the washing machine!! He is literally about to fall in head first. I said "I told you to stop washing!" His reply "I want to wear my muscle shirt tomorrow!" I told him I would do it!

5 minutes later this is what I see as I round the corner. He has managed to get completely wedged between the washer and dryer. I almost left him there I was so tired of chasing him around! For the record I did help him and almost literally tied him to his bed! And... yes he did have a clean muscle shirt the next day!

Sick on a rainy day...

Bryce had pneumonia last week and I kept telling him that he couldn't be outside because it was raining. We had to run a bunch of errands one of those days and he convinced me somehow that he needed the largest umbrella they make in the united states to protect his wee little head. That huge umbrella went everywhere! AND if you didn't already know, a three year old doesn't have the best peripheral vision! He was knocking people out left and right. The funny part is they would look down and they couldn't see him only his frog boots. One man said, "Mr Frogman be careful" Bryce's eyes got really big and he said, "mommy, I'm a frogman!" I said you're going to be a dead man if you don't stop knocking people over with your umbrella! LOL

I have no words....

My mother said I shouldn't post this but I wouldn't be keeping an accurate blog if I didn't. Last night at bath time I had Bryce in the tub with his toys. I let him play by himself for awhile and then he called me when he was ready for shampoo etc. Most everyone knows by now that I don't do bryce below the waist. Ever since he was born I took one look at him and said, "what am I supposed to know about that?!" I am so happy that he is now pottie trained and can bathe himself! Everything was moving along like clockwork until.... I hear Bryce start whimpering for me to come see him ... "ow ow" he starts saying. I head down the hallway, open up the bathroom door and to my horror I see that he has spent his free time stuffing his little man part into the top of a kiddie shower gel plastic bottle. He is standing up and it's literally hanging from his little man part stuck!! I almost threw up in my mouth! I said, "what have you done?!?!" He whimpers and says "It's stuck!" I have him sit down and swallowing the acid in my throat I try to pour a ton of soap on top of it to see if HE can pull it off. It doesn't work. This means I now have to touch it. Lola comes in the bathroom asking why I'm dry heaving.... no mommy is not going to throw up... get out, I'm dealing with your brother! This plastic bottle is vacuum sealed to his boy part! I do my best to keep soaping and little by little (ha ha) it slips out. PHEW!! In between trying not to throw up I am laughing so hard I have tears running down my face! I look at Bryce and say "don't ever stuff that thing in anything ever again!!" I asked him why he would do such a thing and his reply "I wanted to see if it would fit" of course... it's too logical! This boy is only 3! I am so NOT prepared for what else he will come up with as he gets older.

Pass the .....

So there we are, my little family, sitting in church and actually staying quiet! Lola is sitting on my lap while Bryce is "reading" a book. This happens to be during a quiet time in our meeting and I'm impressed that they are doing so well until.... Bryce makes some funny face at Lola who gets the giggles. Her giggles in turn make the other children sitting next to us, in front of us and behind us start giggling as well. I look over and do a quiet apology to all parents involved as we are all now trying to "shush" the children. Most everyone has calmed down but Lola, of course. I tell her in her ear to be quiet or else... Bryce looked at her and did the face again and it was a wrap! She almost snorted I think and just when I was about to take her out of church lola does the unthinkable... She passes gas! The harder she laughed the more she farted. Yes I said it, my daughter farted.. a lot. She has this issue when she laughs, it makes hide and go seek very easy for me. I find her first everytime! Now lola is sitting on my lap when she starts farting and I gasp "LOLA" and she gasps giggling "Mommy!" To my horror there are the other parents now looking at me as though I'm the one making the gassy noises!! I had to take her out, not for crying like everyone else has to but for farting. Never in my life....

Sunday Best

When a 3 year old steals a camera

I was on the phone trying to find a place for Bryce to go to daycare since everyone here is sick. While I'm on the phone his sticky little fingers lifted my camera and he got shutter happy. I was not aware of this until I started posting today and to my surprise I see what he was doing while I was on the phone. He even got a video clip of me talking about HIM. I didn't even know he knew how to take video!!! LOL

Now that's a puzzle

Since our last disastrous attempt at a 3-D puzzle I was not looking forward to doing another one anytime soon. Well wouldn't you know that in a Kid's Meal they now are handing out 3-D puzzles?! "Thanks for nothing", I shouted at my Wendy's window friend. But to my astonishment it was fairly simple. It does not even compare to my 84 piece Ikea direction 3-D puzzle from before. This was 11 pieces and the directions walked you step by step! The kids actually did most of it. Awesome

Vegetable Cheeks

I remember when I was little that I HATED anything to do with eating vegetables. I was afraid that this would be passed on to my children but thankfully so far so good until.... Bryce and his puffy cheeks were eating some green beans and he cleared his plate and had been finished with dinner for about 20 minutes. I said, "Yay, you both ate your dinner, who wants ice cream?" Lola jumped up and down and Bryce started to but then he stopped and just shook his head no. I thought that was odd so I asked him why. He immediately looked guilty but wouldn't talk. Tapping into my deviousness as a child with vegetables for dinner I looked at him and said, "come here now" He stood before me with his head down. I said, "where are your green beans?" He shook his head... I said again, "where are your green beans, did you flush them, did you throw them away, did you put them on Lola's plate, are they in your pockets?" (yes, all tricks I used to do) He shook his head again and opened his mouth... There to my amazement I saw that this poor kid had mashed up all the green beans and had been hiding them in his cheeks for the last 20 minutes!!!!!

Little Mama's New Glasses

Yes, my little girl takes after me in the eye department. So sad.... Hers are adorable though! They are Brand: Juicy Couture Type: Candy Apple... now imagine a 5 year old hearing she has Juicy Candy Apple glasses, yep, Lola thought she could eat her glasses straight out of willy wonka! LOL

Underwear Hippo

Bryce came running out of his room and this is what I saw. I asked him what in the world he was and he said "I'm a hippo with underwear on and I fly to the moon" Of course! I never should have thought anything else. I'm learning not to doubt my children, they have everything figured out!

My Astronaut

Bryce found this tub and for some reason thought it looked like an astronaut's helmet!

Field Trip to the Farm (part 2)

I had taken 5 videos of Lola saying how her day was on the farm but Bryce would always make her laugh or do something to sabotoge it. This is the last footage and you will see why we quit. He truly is crazy. Please watch the whole thing, the ending is the icing on the cake.

Team Triangle

Hi my name is Sara and I'm an addict. Addicted to Nanny 911!! I learn exactly what NOT to do from watching that show. I even make the kids watch it with me to show them and talk about things. One show had a set of triplets and the nanny said that they were a triangle. It has three sides and if you make a triangle with your hands and push it together then it is strong. If one side/person is not strong then it falls apart. Lola saw that and took off running with it. She said that's like our family. Bryce, Lola and mommy are a triangle. She made us all make the triangle sign and she yelled Team Triangle!! So now we all clean the house as Team Triangle and everyone helps, it's awesome!

Time out Troubles

So Mr. Bryce was rather upset with me the other night and he was in time out for 3 whole minutes. Of course 3 minutes is a lifetime to a 3 year old! Normally he yells or cries and keeps running out of the room but this time he was rather quiet so I had to go investigate. I asked him what he was doing and he pointed to this enormous orange sticker he had put on his forehead that said thank you! I said, "thank you?" "so you're not talking to me now". He just pointed to the sticker again... and again... and again. The kid can't even read but he knew it said something!

Learning is Fun

Bryce was working on his letters quietly and I turn my back for one second and this is what he did. He said "my letters are superfun" Whatever gets them to learn right?!

Substitute Day

I dropped off Lola this morning at her Kindergarten class and as we were waiting for her teacher to greet the children outside we were surprised to see a new face. To Lola's horror her teacher took the day off! Poor Lola's face crumpled up when she realized that Mrs. Alvarado wouldn't be there today. She became like a leach to my leg when on any other day she would have left me at the door excited to begin her day. It took me 15 minutes to pry her away from me, wiping her tears and telling her that everything will be the same. She looked at me defeated and said "do you see how upset this makes me?" Yes I did and I realized in that moment just how much of an impact our teachers have on our young, impressionable children's lives. I am having a "I am thankful for Teachers" day. I think I'll bake her some cupcakes!

Puzzle Gone Wrong

We started to build this "assumed to be" simple puzzle that the box clearly states is for a 7 year old. This thing was ridiculous!!!! I have never seen so many pieces in my life! You need to have graduated from MIT to put that thing together. As you will notice there are only 4 pictures of this project because it never even got started. I tried the first piece and that was it. It had Ikea like directions for an 83 piece puzzle!! Never again!

Iron(ing) Man(board)

I had the ironing board out against the wall to clean out a closet and Bryce came up and asked what it was. I told him that it was an ironing board and he must have heard Iron Man with whom he is obsessed. He was convinced that he was going to come to life and take off and fly with him. He dragged that board around the house for almost half a day and then he put it up in my room and decided to lay on it to see if he could fly. I tried explaining but to no avail. He was disappointed when I started ironing clothes on it and nothing happened. LOL
