Easter

I drove the kids up a couple of days early to spend time with my parents before heading back for the week. I spent Easter morning with them and then drove back. Here are the Easter pics and eggs coloring with my mother.

Not so "Spring" Break

Our school district had to seriously be the last school in the entire U.S. to have spring break. It was the week after Easter!!! Every other mother I know had kids taking it in March or early April, not the END of April! I decided to start a tradition unbeknownst to my mother that this would be the first of many years the kids can go to my parent's house and spend spring break with the grandparents! I didn't know what I was going to do with them and this seemed to work out perfect! I drove 10 hours and can't even begin to describe the car ride. I can't even go there right now. As we headed from California into Oregon there was a blinding snow storm! Lola and Bryce were hysterical they were so excited! Me not so much! My windshield wipers were moving so fast that they broke! I stopped off after it had calmed down a bit, so I could calm my nerves! Here are some pics I took of them standing in the snow.

Uncle Marlon

One of my best friend's, Marlon, came up for a quick visit and came to Lola's game with us. The kids had a blast and it was fun for him to see the kids all grown up. Thanks for playing Marlon!

Open House

Lola was so proud to have us at open house. I met her friends and saw her desk. She took me around to the different stations they have in their classroom and then showed me around her school. It was amazing to see her so confident and in control of her surroundings. Her teacher, Mrs. Alvarado, is amazing. I just love her. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher.

An Introduction to the Theatre

As all of you know my first love and passion is theatre. I have been waiting for the day to share this with my children either by watching a show with them or them see me perform. My friend's daughter,Breonnie, was performing in "The Wiz" at her middle school and I immediately snatched up tickets. We went and I sat them in the front row and for the next 2 hours they didn't move a bit. Bryce was absolutely enamored. This little boy opened the show singing Somewhere over the Rainbow in english and spanish and Bryce said, "wow mommy" and lola said "cool" , I was bawling and it wasn't even 2 minutes into the whole show. It was so special to share this world with them and they loved it. Breonnie was Dorothy and Bryce kept calling her his princess. It was SO cute. Lola loved the tinman and still likes to talk through her mouth like he did before he gets some oil.

Now the next step is for me to perform and for them to watch their own mother. How amazing. Stay tuned.... I'll let you know!
